Remagen Circular Hiking Trail A5 - Panorama Trail

The hike starts at the "Monte Klamotte" hiking car park

Opposite a wayside cross with the Virgin Mary from 1859, local hiking trails are marked on a map

by the beautification association. The hiking trail

A 5 is continuously well signposted in both directions around the clock.

This description follows the counterclockwise direction.

Right at the 2nd oak tree, you will find the continuous signage of the circular hiking trail A 5

with appropriate directional arrows. To the left is deciduous/conifer mixed forest, to the right the fields of the isolated farms,

passing a drinking water tank straight into the forest. Part

of the path is identical with the forest educational trail. Passing a Jewish cemetery, the

level path leads us to Reisberg (192.2 m above sea level) through deciduous/conifer mixed forest to a resting bench.

Here we follow the signs to the left. After a few hundred meters it goes slightly

downhill.

The wide forest path narrows to a narrow trail. From here we walk through pure

deciduous mixed forest. At half height there is a sight axis with a view of Sinzig and further along

the Rhine Valley up to the Andernach Gate.

We now leave the forest with its locust trees at the forest edge and go a short

distance downhill past meadows, until following the signs it continues slightly uphill to the left.

From the first gentle rise in the fields, a wonderful panoramic view opens up.

With a sweep, starting upstream, we see Sinzig, then the Andernach

Gate, further to the left Linz, Bruchhausen, the Siebengebirge from Löwenburg to the

Drachenfels and behind us the Reisberg.

We continue on grassy paths to another hilltop, where the view

to the north into the Rhine Valley is unobstructed. From here the Rolandsbogen and the Rheininsel

Nonnenwerth can also be seen. Following the signs on an asphalted path we reach

just before Haus Hohenlinden. Along the slope, the path leads us uphill again until we

reach our starting point at the top.
