Introductory route on the Eifelleiter with public transport connection (Hohe Acht/Jammelshofen - Adenau)

First take the bus line 815 or the bus line 816 from the Adenau marketplace to the Jammelshofen/Kaiser Wilhelm Tower junction (current timetable: https://www.bahn.de and https:// www.vrminfo.de)

Right behind the Berghotel Hohe Acht, the route leads you after just 1 km to the highest point of the Eifel: From the Kaiser Wilhelm Tower on the Hohe Acht you have a spectacular panoramic view over the wonderful Vulkaneifel landscape. Pause briefly and enjoy, let your gaze wander into the distance and take a deep breath.

The impressive basalt formations at the foot of the tower testify to the volcanic past of this mountain peak.

Then lovely forest passages show pure nature along a narrow path and it steadily goes downhill to the lively town of Adenau. Shortly before the destination, the Adenauer Kreuzweg, a cultural monument and place of reflection, captivates with its uniqueness. Upon arrival, the historic town center of Adenau with its picturesque half-timbered houses and cozy restaurants and cafés invites you to a relaxed conclusion of the introductory route.
