Mittelahr Wine Festival

Excellent wines, regional specialties, and a unique wine-growing landscape

Along the nearly 15-kilometer route and at the stands, you can experience the autumn weather on the steep slopes, enjoy breathtaking views, and taste wines right where they’re grown. Your culinary needs will also be well taken care of during the hike and in the villages down in the valley. You can start the Red Wine Hiking Trail from any village, so you can plan your own route.

In addition, wine festivals take place on weekends in the fall in the various wine villages.

You can customize the starting point, route, and which wine stands you visit. However, it’s a good idea to plan your route in advance. Well before the event begins, we’ll post a hiking map on our website showing the complete hiking route, the locations of the wine stands, and other important information.
