Galaxy Trail | Hiker's Paradise Sahrbach Valley

The Galaxy Trail (blue telescope logo), together with theMilky Way (red telescope logo) and thePlanets Trail (green telescope logo), is one of the astronomy trails in the Sahrbach Valley. The themed hiking trails are equipped with information boards that accompany the space hiker on his way through the universe.

The Astronomical Hiking Trails  incorporate one of the region's main attractions, the radio telescope at Effelsberg, into the trail network Hiking Paradise Sahrbachtal.  

The Galaxienweg (blue telescope logo) belongs together with the Milchstraßenweg (red telescope logo) and the Planetenweg (green telescope logo) to the „Astronomical Routes“ in the Sahrbach valley. The themed routes are equipped with information boards that accompany the „space wanderer“ on their journey through the universe.

The Astronomical Routes integrate one of the main attractions of the region, the Effelsberg radio telescope, into the path network Wanderparadies Sahrbachtal.

The Galaxienweg begins at the foot of the radio telescope in Effelsberg.

The starting point can be reached from the visitor pavilion of the radio telescope. The Galaxienweg initially leads over forest paths and a steep ascent (300 m) past the "colorful bench" to the Martinshütte (Kirchsahr).

The Galaxienweg is part of a circular route of 8 km length and is described in the route:

"Wanderparadies Sahrbachtal | Experience route to/from Binzenbach"
