The witches' dancing place "Auf Wolfsgraben" above Pützfeld offers a sweeping view over the Ahr and Auschbach valleys as far as Kreuzberg Castle. This place was once the scene of medieval trials, shrouded in dark legends. In Pützfeld, the trail climbs gently past pretty half-timbered houses and orchards, along idyllic forest paths to the Silvesterhütte. An impressive ridge walk over the Mühlenberg follows via a winding rocky path before the descent leads back to the train station in Ahrbrück.

Variant for young families - suitable for baby carriages:

After arriving at the Silvesterhütte, this version of the tour leads directly downhill via the "Wolfsgraben" access path back to Pützfeld and on to the train station in Ahrbück.

The circular tour starts at the train station in Ahrbrück and first runs through the street "Mühlenauel", then past the course of the river Ahr in the direction of Pützfeld. After crossing the B257 and the "An den Märkten" parking lot, you reach the small village of Pützfeld. In Pützfeld, the trail first leads along Steinerbergstraße through the historic village center with its lovingly restored half-timbered houses and the old bakery. At the end of the village, follow the path to the left, which initially leads past orchards and then climbs gently uphill in two hairpin bends. The idyllic forest paths repeatedly open up wide views of the valley, the Pützfeld chapel and Kreuzberg Castle.

Keep right at the next fork and follow the path to the Silvesterhütte.

On the forecourt of the hut, the so-called "Hexentanzplatz", an information board and a memorial stone commemorate the former medieval place of justice.

A ridge hike over the Mühlenberg follows along a winding rocky path with impressive views of the Ahr valley, Hönningen and the hilltop village of Reifferscheid.

The descent to St. Catherine's Chapel in Ahrbrück is via a narrow, steep path. After 300 meters, the starting point is reached at Ahrbrück railroad station.
