Short Route 1 (9.3 km) | Fürstin-Margaretha-Weg (Antweiler – Eichenbach – Aremberg – Antweiler)
In the idyllic Hocheifel village of Aremberg, at the foot of the striking volcanic mountain of the same name, the remains of the former fortifications, as well as St. Nicholas Parish Church and the Guardian Angel Chapel, transport visitors back to times gone by.

>> If you’d like to visit the Arenberg castle and palace ruins, follow Burgstraße in Aremberg up to the top of the Aremberg. After about 800 m, you’ll reach the tower of the Arenberg castle ruins. Along the way, information signs vividly explain the history of Princess Margaretha von Arenberg <<
In the center of Aremberg, with a view of the church, we turn right off Burgstraße down into Schulstraße. We follow the logo featuring the medlar tree of the Princess Margaretha Trail. The trail continues almost straight downhill for about 1 km, and after a slight right turn, we reach Antweiler another 1.5 km further on.

)The route is marked throughout with the medlar logo of the Fürstin-Margaretha-Weg. The short route between Eichenbach and Aremberg is marked separately as such.
