Explorer Family Route Sinzig

Right at the start, you can choose either a narrow steep path uphill or a more leisurely walk in wide serpentine bends up the Mühlenberg. After a short walk through the forest, you reach the winemaker’s house—a perfect place for your first refreshment. The route along the AhrSteig passes a resting bench and an oversized wooden picture frame that perfectly showcases the view of the rose village of Löhndorf. The next discovery awaits shortly beside the path: a small shelter that locals have converted into a library. After the forest inn "Zum Ännchen," you arrive at the forest playground and shortly afterward at the Feltenturm. A climb is rewarded with a phenomenal view. At Cäciliahütte, you can refresh yourself before continuing the descent from Mühlenberg to Wilhelmshof. The animals in the Schwanenteich enclosure are also waiting to be petted.

Direkt zu Beginn könnt Ihr wahlweise über einen schmalen Pfad steil bergauf oder etwas gemächlicher in weiten Serpentienen auf den Mühlenberg wandern. Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang durch den Wald gelangt Ihr zum Winzerhäuschen.  Eine perfekte Möglichkeit für eine erste Stärkung. Über den AhrSteig führt die Tour an einer Ruhebank und einem überdimensionalen Holzbilderrahmen vorbei. Er setzt den Blick auf das Rosendorf Löhndorf passend in Szene. Die nächste Entdeckung steht bereits kurze Zeit später am Wegesrand. Eine kleine Schutzhütte, die Anwohner zu einer Bibliothek umfunktioniert haben. Nach der Waldschänke "Zum Ännchen", kommt Ihr dann auch schon zum Waldspielplatz und kurz darauf zum Feltenturm. Ein Aufstieg wird mit einer phänomenalen Aussicht belohnt. An der Cäciliahütte könnt Ihr Euch stärken, um über den Abstieg vom Mühlenberg weiter zum Wilhelmshof zu wandern. Und auch die Tiere im Schwanenteichgehege warten darauf von Euch gestreichelt zu werden.

From the Tourist Information in Bad Bodendorf, you reach the foot of the Mühlenberg by following Bäderstraße southward. Here you either follow the signage of the Panorama Trail (P) up the steep path or first turn left into Burggrafenstraße, then about 500m later take the flatter but longer path to the right up into the forest. As soon as you reach the marking of the Panorama Trail, follow it to the forest inn "Zum Ännchen." Here turn left and follow the AhrSteig marking (AS) to the Feltenturm. From there, follow the road down to "Vieux Sinzig." From here you must follow Kölnerstr. along the Ahr and then turn left into Bodendorferstr. After passing Sinziger Mineralbrunnen on foot, turn left to Wilhelmshof. From there, continue on the farm road parallel to the Ahr to the Ehrenfriedhof and then left again onto the Ahruferweg and to the Schwanenteich animal enclosure. From there, walk along the Ahr and over the bridge back to the starting point.

From the tourist information centre in Bad Bodendorf, head south along Bäderstraße to the foot of the Mühlenberg. Here you can either follow the signs for the Panorama Trail (P) up the steep path or turn left into Burggrafenstraße and then take the flatter but further path on the right up into the forest about 500 metres later. As soon as you reach the panoramic trail markings, follow them until you reach the forest tavern "Zum Ännchen". Turn left here and follow the AhrSteig markings (AS) to the Feltenturm tower. From there, follow the road downhill to "Vieux Sinzig". From here you have to follow Kölnerstr. over the Ahr and then turn left into Bodendorferstr. After walking past the Sinzig mineral fountain, turn left to Wilhelmshof. From there, follow the farm track parallel to the Ahr to the cemetery of honour and turn left again onto the Ahruferweg and to the Schwanenteich animal enclosure. From there, walk along the Ahr and over the bridge back to the starting point.
