Dernau - Krausberg

The tour starts at the Ahrbrücke in Dernau. From here, the trail crosses the Ahrbrücke and turns first right into the "Ahrweg" and after a few metres left into the street "Auf der Wacht".  We follow the signpost no. 1 in the direction of Krausberg. After about 300 metres, leave the road and follow signpost no. 1 to the right. The tour continues westwards with a view of Dernau through the vineyards and short forest sections. After about three kilometres, you reach a sunken path. Here begins the ascent to the summit of the Krausberg. 

Uphill we follow the sunken path to the next fork. Turn left and continue through mixed forest and along forest paths in the direction of Krausberg. At the next fork in the trail, we follow the path to the finish of the hike on the summit of the Krausberg.

From Krausberg, the path to Dernau is signposted via the AhrSteig access path. A steep path leads partly over hairpin bends and steps back to the wine village of Dernau.

An alternative route to the Krausberg is the access road from Dernau. The starting and finishing point in Dernau is at the Ahrbrücke. The path is suitable for prams.

Dernau - Krausberg

The tour starts at the Ahrbrücke bridge in Dernau. From here, the path leads over the Ahr bridge, first to the right into the "Ahrweg" and after a few metres to the left into the street "Auf der Wacht". We follow signpost no. 1 in the direction of Krausberg. After around 300 metres, we leave the road and follow signpost no. 1 on the right. The tour leads westwards through the vineyards and through short sections of forest with a view of Dernau. After around three kilometres, you reach a hollow path. This is where the ascent to the summit of the Krausberg begins. We follow the sunken path uphill to the next fork in the path. The tour continues to the left through mixed forest and along forest paths towards Krausberg. At the next crossroads, follow the path to the end of the hike at the summit of the Krausberg.

Krausberg to Dernau via the AhrSteig access route

From Krausberg, the route to Dernau is signposted via the AhrSteig access route. A steep path leads back to the wine village of Dernau, partly via hairpin bends and steps.
