AhrSchleife "RheinAhrSicht"

The varied route leads through the diverse Sinzig area and offers spectacular views of the Ahr and Rhine valleys.

The starting point is directly on the Ahr in Sinzig. The trail leads along the Schwanenteich pond to Bad Bodendorf. A first ascent up the Mühlenberg offers fantastic views of the Ahr valley before the route leads through the rose village of Löhndorf.

It then descends across open fields to the district of Westum. From there, the trail leads back up into the forest on the Mühlenberg, where a detour to the Feltenturm tower offers a view of large parts of the AhrSchleife.

Thanks to the mixture of nature, culture and relaxation, the AhrSchleife "RheinAhrSicht" is ideal for a day hike.

At the beginning, cross the Ahr bridge on Kölner Straße and turn left towards Sinziger Mineralbrunnen. The farm track now runs parallel to the Ahr, passes the Wilhelmshof farm and continues to the cemetery of honor. Turn left there in the direction of Schwanenteich. Now follow the path directly along the Ahr to the Ahr bridge in Bad Bodendorf.

The hike continues through the spa district, past the St. Josef Sprudel and the thermal outdoor pool, before the first ascent up the Mühlenberg begins. The trail then follows the markings through the forest in the direction of "Generationenwald 2.0". At the large AhrSteig wooden picture frame, the trail leads down to Löhndorf on the right.

Via Nordstraße and Kreuzstraße, the trail finally leads out of Löhndorf up to the Sinzig-Kopf. Passing the Gerhardshof farm, the path leads between fields and forests down to Westum. From there, the route runs back up to the Mühlenberg and on to the forest tavern "Zum Ännchen". Passing a forest playground, you finally reach the 11-metre-high Feltenturm tower via a short detour, which offers an impressive 360-degree panoramic view.

The way back finally leads downhill through Sinzig. If you still have an appetite after visiting the cozy refreshment stops along this AhrSchleife, you can take a short detour into Sinzig town centre, as the local gastronomy offers something for every taste.

The route finally ends back at the Ahrbrücke bridge on Kölner Straße.
