AhrSchleife Köhlerweg (Müsch - Antweiler - Aremberg - Müsch)

The AhrSchleife Köhlerweg with its fantastic views leads through almost untouched forest and meadow valleys of the Ahr Valley to the mountain ranges of the Ahrgebirge. At the same time, the trail follows old traces of regional craft and industrial history - from charcoal burning, ore mining and smelting to the Arenberg iron industry.Today, the charcoal burners' trail is a reminder of how closely nature, work and administration were intertwined - and how the Duchy of Arenberg shaped these changes.
The spectacular view from the XXL bench is impressive right from the start, before the trail leads leisurely to the Köhlerplatz information point. The route continues through quiet forest passages to the Eifel village of Antweiler, which is perfect for a short break. Now you can look forward to some challenging climbs that lead to the foot of the striking Aremberg, an impressive witness to the region's volcanic past.
Accompanied by fantastic views over the Hocheifel heights, the route descends gently from the historic town center of Aremberg. Again and again, wonderful panoramic views of the landscape open up and provide glimpses of the Aremberg, before you dive into a winding forest path with ancient oak trees. Back in Müsch, the park-like inclusive garden is a wonderful place to relax and unwind after the hike.
