Small castle route

Following history - The journey starts at the parking lot of the Nürburg castle ruins. The restaurant "Zur Nürburg" is almost circled once and after a short ascent you are on the small castle route. Along the route you can see the remnants of the ski slope which in earlier years had lively attendance during the winter months. The view through the trees shows the village of Quiddelbach. Further on past the water tank up to the former ski jump facility. It was the venue for national ski jumping competitions in the 1950s and 60s. The still existing referee tower reminds of these glorious times.

Downhill, past beautiful flower meadows, it goes back to the village of Nürburg. Looking to the left you can see, besides the multifaceted Eifel landscape, the Aremberg in the distance. Through Burgstraße, it goes back to the starting point. After the walk, the restaurant "Zur Nürburg" invites you to linger.

The small castle route is uniformly signposted.
