Konzert des Kammerchors Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler

On the theme of "If it were dark "If it were dark", songs from Franz Schubert's song cycle "Winterreise", two quartets quartets by Johanes Brahms and also two songs by Heinrich von Herzogenberg will also be performed. This selection of Romantic songs will be framed by two variants of the motet "o sacrum convivium" from the Renaissance period Renaissance; once in the version by Andrea Gabrieli and once by Giovanni Croce.
The title "Wenn es dunkel wär" does not describe a state, but a foreboding. Especially on a summer evening, when the light lingers for a long time and the night only hesitantly announces itself, a special state of suspension arises: between light and dark, between the outside world and inner experience. The image of the sunset has always fascinated lyricists and composers alike. But what actually happens in this process of going dark - and how does it change our how does our perception change? The concert is dedicated to this question.
