Ahrweiler Weinwochen
One of the largest and most traditional wine festivals in the Ahr Valley
The four imposing city gates in medieval Ahrweiler welcome visitors on the first and second weekends in September to one of the largest and most traditional wine festivals in the Ahr Valley. Within the historic city walls, the Ahrweiler Weinwochen, taking place from 4 to 6 September and 11 to 13 September 2026 , invite you to spend cheerful and convivial hours enjoying a fine glass of Ahr wine. Set against the backdrop of the large parish church, the cosy Ahrweiler marketplace becomes a meeting place for wine lovers of all ages.
A delicious culinary treat is a must at the Ahrweiler Weinwochen. On the Ahrweiler marketplace, guests can look forward to stalls offering all manner of savoury and sweet dishes. But the streets and alleyways also invite visitors to enjoy the local eateries, with restaurants, cafés and ice-cream parlours.

Grand Wine Festival Parade
On Sunday 6 September 2026 (the first weekend of the festival), the traditional Wine Festival Parade will wind its way through the festively decorated streets of Ahrweiler’s historic old town.
The parade begins at 3 pm with the procession through the imposing Ahr Gate.

Please note: On the Sunday of the Wine Festival parade, a traditional toll of five euros will be collected from 10.00 am at the city gates of Ahrweiler. As every year, the shooting clubs will welcome you in their uniforms. As a thank-you for the small contribution, guests will receive a value token from our value-added system, which can be exchanged for an Ahr Valley wine glass at the market square and at the Blankartshof. The revenue from the toll covers a significant portion of the festival’s costs, thereby making the Ahrweiler Wine Festival and its parade possible in the first place. We would therefore like to thank all our supporters and wish you a successful parade!
On both festival weekends, a variety of food stalls will be on hand to cater for your appetite with a wide selection of delicious dishes:

Also new this year, Katis Nähstübchen is offering homemade wine glass holders and other handy little bits and bobs for your visit to the wine festival.
On the first weekend of the festival, the clubs from Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler will welcome you at the wine stalls and serve wines from local winegrowers:

Getting there
You can travel easily to Ahrweiler marketplace by train or rail replacement bus service from Remagen. We therefore recommend travelling by public transport. If you’d still prefer to travel by car, you’ll find several public car parks around Ahrweiler’s old town.
