Here is the detour from Walporzheim to SinzigStarting from the Rhine cycle path, first follow the Ahr cycle path to Kripper Straße. Here, do not turn left over the Ahr but continue along the green path via Kölner Straße and into Bodendorfer Straße. From here, the detour leads through fields and meadows to Bad Bodendorf. Then it continues on the other side of the Ahr via Josef-Hardt-Allee and Rosenstraße to a small forest area below the Ehlinger Ley. From the forest, the detour leads back toward the Ahr and then parallel to the B266 to Heimersheim. Behind Heimersheim, the path crosses the Ahr again. Behind the bridge, it passes the spa house and then continues over Mittelstraße and along the back of the spa park to the Dahliengarten. From here, the detour runs directly along the Ahr to the Bachemer Bridge. Beyond the bridge, it continues along Otlerstraße, past the cemetery along Friedrichstraße. Now it goes through Schützbahn along the town wall. The path follows Walporzheimer Straße to the end of the detour at the wine manufactory Walporzheim.
From here, it is not possible to continue safely along a cycle path towards Marienthal.
