“Was machen Sie eigentlich tagsüber?”
Born in the GDR, he
and his family wanted to flee to the FRG. Unfortunately, however, they took a wrong turn and
ended up in the Soviet Union. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he finally made it to the
West and ended up in Berlin’s Wedding district. On the streets of Berlin, he developed
his style and discovered his gift for rambling on for hours on end,
regaling people with stories. This apparently went down well and was found to be funny. As
it wasn’t enough for him to do this only during the day, he decided over five years ago to
do the same at night on Berlin’s comedy stages. First in German and then
in English as well. This opened up the opportunity for him to perform on stages
in Amsterdam, London and Edinburgh as well. His comedy charmingly explores
history and the stories behind it, cultural contradictions and
the absurdities of everyday life.
