The 21st Ahrtaler Gipfelfest on Corpus Christi weekend (27 to 30 May 2027) guarantees hiking fun for young and old. Varied tours to selected day destinations allow you to experience the wild and romantic Ahr Valley in all its diversity. Discover the four daily destinations on wonderful hikes with marvellous views and impressions. The Gipfelfest routes take you along the most beautiful hiking trails through forests and vineyards, on heights and hilltops, along streams and rivers to each day's destination. Great hands-on activities, regional delicacies and a colourful family programme await hiking fans of all ages.

This is how the Ahrtaler Gipfelfest works:
Every year, four different daily destinations are selected for the Ahrtaler Gipfelfest. A short and a long hiking route leads to each destination, along the most beautiful hiking trails with wonderful views and impressions.
Each day's destination is catered for from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers an entertaining programme for young and old during this time. Look forward to exciting entertainment, delicious food and a relaxed time for the whole family.
For those who prefer to hike in a group and want to learn more about the hiking trails of the Ahr Valley, guided hikes are offered daily from the respective day's destination.
Those who reach all four destinations in four days have the chance to take part in the summit festival competition competition. There are great prizes up for grabs!
Our tip for kids: Young hiking fans should get the Gipfelfest stamp card and collect the summit stamps at all the day's destinations. If you have a full stamp card, you can pick up your Gipfelfest certificate at the last destination of the day as a reward.
Participation in the event and the guided hikes are free of charge.
Impressions of the Ahrtaler Gipfelfest 2026
Even though the weather was changeable from time to time, this did not dampen the good mood at the 20th Ahrtaler Gipfelfest on the long Corpus Christi weekend. Numerous hiking-loving couples, families and groups made their way to the four day destinations organised by Ahrtal-Tourismus together with the municipalities of Adenau and Altenahr, the towns of Sinzig, Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler and Remagen and the municipality of Blankenheim.
Day 1: Forsterberg hut in Rech
The Eifelverein Rech took over the organisation, catering and the guided hike. Around 60 hikers were welcomed at the start of the tour by hiking guide Christian Eller. Seven stands and activities were set up at the hut - from goal wall shooting to an enclosure with the Hirschbach alpacas. The wine sensory seminar was quickly expanded so that children could also take part and sniff out flavours such as coffee, pepper, pineapple and chocolate.
The youngest participant was ten-week-old Elea, who joined her parents Michaela and Leon in a pushchair. The young family was able to enjoy fantastic views of the vineyards and villages around Rech on the short route, which is suitable for pushchairs. The summit festival was also used as a family get-together. The Erdfelder-Naß family from Bonn, Brühl and Weinheim travelled with parents, children and grandmas and grandpas. The idea came from nine-year-old Wolf, who discovered a Gipfelfest flyer in the Bonn public library and announced to his family at home: "I want to go there!"
Day 2: Florianshütte in Ramersbach
The day's destination on Friday was the Florianshütte in Ramersbach. Over 40 hikers set off in the morning with hiking guide Christine Nägler on the 15-kilometre "Iron Trail" summit circuit, which led past the remains of a former Roman iron smelting settlement. A few showers could not deter the hiking fans. At the finish point, the team from the forest climbing park provided plenty of fun with a slackline and a much-coveted wheel of fortune.
The team from the Römervilla museum brought Roman flair to the summit. Guests were able to enjoy culinary flavours such as Roman wine and lemonade and get active themselves with the historical round mill game. In the late afternoon, the Ramersbach volunteer fire brigade provided the perfect finale with a cosy stick bread barbecue. A group of four from the Moselle was delighted: "We girls go on a trip together every year and this year we travelled to the beautiful Ahr valley," said the ladies, who stayed in a hotel in Bad Neuenahr and used the bus and train to reach the various peaks. Their summary of the summit festival: "It's really well organised and we had a lot of fun."
Day 3: Cäcilia hut in Sinzig
The Cäcilia hut in Sinzig was the day's destination on Saturday. The 15-kilometre summit tour followed the new AhrSchleife "RheinAhrSicht" up to the Mühlenberg. There was a bouncy castle and a football dartboard for families with children. Adults took part in wine tasting at the Kriechel winery stand.
The Sinzig and Remagen tourist information centres were on hand with all kinds of information and the Cäcilia hut served guests drinks, cakes and snacks.
The climb up the Feltenturm tower, which offered a marvellous panoramic view of Sinzig, the Rhine and the lower Ahr valley, was particularly popular with the guests.
Day 4: Martinshütte in Schuld
The summit festival concluded on Sunday at the Martinshütte in Schuld. Here, the Ahr valley once again showed its best side in sunny weather. Around 100 participants were on hand for the guided hike to embark on a geological journey through time with the hiking friends of Schuld and geologist Dr Mario Valdivia Manchego. However, it was not only the scientific information that delighted the guests, but also the varied route of the summit tour with fantastic views, open meadow landscapes, rocky paths and shady forest sections.
With sweeping views across the landscape, the route finally led to the Martinshütte, where the hikers were warmly welcomed and catered for by hiking friends Schuld. A colourful supporting programme was provided by the costumed actors from the Schuld open-air theatre with this year's play "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp", play and children's make-up stations and the Schuld volunteer fire brigade, which presented its manoeuvrable UTV emergency vehicle.
By bus & train to the hike
