An Evening of Shopping Pleasure
Late-night shopping in historic Ahrweiler
Stroll through festively decorated shops after work, discover the latest fashions and accessories, enjoy a glass of wine in cosy restaurants, or simply meet up with friends and enjoy a convivial Thursday evening: all this is possible during the Shopping and Enjoyment Evening in Ahrweiler. The retailers and restaurants in Ahrweiler town centre are open for you until 9 pm. Numerous events and special offers – whether tastings of Ahr Valley specialities, presentations of new fashion collections, discount promotions or social get-togethers over sparkling wine and wine – invite you to browse and enjoy yourself.
The streets will once again be bathed in cosy lighting, and seasonal decorations will guide you to the open shops and restaurants.

Theme: "City Lounge"
Colourful decorations, autumnal delicacies and a varied shopping and culinary experience await visitors at the next Shopping and Culinary Evening on Thursday 3 September, from 5 pm to 9 pm in Ahrweiler’s old town. Under the theme “CityLounge”, local shops and restaurants will be showcasing fashion, cuisine, culture and plenty of surprises. A particular highlight will be the opening of Niederhutstraße, which will be celebrated with a colourful street party.
Circus fun with “Dr Wunder’s Travelling Circus”
Entertainment will be provided by the walking act “Dr. Wunder’s Travelling Circus”. The extraordinary ringmaster invites young and old alike to marvel, laugh and join in the fun. Visitors can try their hand at small tricks, experience fascinating performances and become part of an enchanting circus world. Dr Wunder can be seen from 5 pm to 6 pm and from 8 pm to 9 pm at the Marktplatz (on the corner of Ahrhut and Niederhut), as well as from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm at Katharinenplatz in Niederhut.
‘Gemeinsam am Tisch’ in Niederhut
Coinciding with the Shopping and Delights Evening, the provisional completion of the reconstruction work on Niederhutstraße will be celebrated. From 5 pm to 9 pm, guests can look forward to a varied programme featuring music, activities and hands-on experiences.
The focus will be on the “Together at the Table” concept: along the entire length of Niederhutstraße, long white tables will invite people to chat, linger and get to know one another. At the same time, the tables will provide a space for information about the reconstruction work, as well as for special offers from local shops and restaurants.
Free creative workshops
A special highlight of the programme is the free hands-on activity organised by ‘Fortuna hilft’. The initiative, which serves as an important meeting place for children, families and the local community through its community café on Niederhutstraße, is hosting an open jewellery-making workshop. Here, visitors can get creative, design their own jewellery and discover the wide range of free activities that ‘Fortuna hilft’ regularly organises for families and children. The free workshop run by ‘Froschell Edit Studio’ also invites visitors to get involved, offering the chance to design personalised ceramic and wine coasters.
DJ André Schild, with his mobile set-up ‘DJ on the Run’, and singer Janine Mitrell will provide the perfect musical atmosphere with live music.
The Shopping and Enjoyment Evening and the opening of Niederhutstraße promise an atmospheric evening full of encounters, entertainment and enjoyment, offering the chance to discover and celebrate the newly redesigned street and the lively old town of Ahrweiler together.
