Obertor
When visiting Ahrweiler, the Obertor should therefore not be missing from your list of sights. It not only embodies the history of the town, but is also a place that invites you to fully enjoy the unique atmosphere and charm of this medieval town.
The approximately 20-metre-high Obertor is one of Ahrweiler's four town gates dating back to the 13th century. The gate consists of a three-storey tower, four corner towers and a hipped roof and is located in the west of the town. The patron saint of the upper gate and the Oberhut, which begins here, is St Ursula.
