"Welcome home" - with this slogan the Günter Lang family welcomes you, you as your guests. The family-run hotel is located in the center of Altenahr. The house is equipped with a lift. Seasonal, national and international cuisine. Enjoy your meals in our new "Post-Stube" restaurant. All rooms are non-smoking rooms and equipped with a shower, toilet, make-up shaving mirror, hair dryer, flat screen TV with satellite channels, minibar and some with a balcony/terrace. Parking is opposite the hotel. We will open the new Post-Stube restaurant in June 2023. 45 guests will feel at home in a homely atmosphere. A small wellness area with infrared cabins, massage chair and fitness area will spoil our guests in the near future.

Since 2021 we are a certified hotel for sustainability. We have been awarded level 3 by the GreeSign label

Information about our Hotel zur Post

Restart after the flood disaster in the Ahr Valley – we are back!!!

Finally, almost 2 years after the devastating flood disaster of July 2021, we are back. The restart has been successful, as the necessary approvals finally came through.

Now a different "Hotel zur Post" has emerged. We transformed the former guesthouse into the new "Hotel zur Post 3 stars superior." This means that bookings at the hotel are possible again starting now. Additionally, we opened the restaurant "Post-Stube" on June 1, 2023.

Thus, we have completed the opening. In contrast, the plans for the original "Hotel zur Post" will also unfold over time.

Therefore, we temporarily have 18 double rooms. You can relax in the Post-Horn category, or you can book the Post-Kutscher category. Furthermore, you can enjoy the balcony/terrace in the Post-Meister category. Gradually, about 6 more rooms will be added.

On the ground floor, you will find a modern restaurant, the "Post-Stube."
About 40 guests can experience a cozy atmosphere there. Enjoy culinary, fresh, and regional German dishes.

A new little wellness oasis is being created on the 1st floor. There you will be pampered
with a relaxation area, fitness room, 2 infrared cabins, and massage chairs.

In addition, we have been awarded the Level 3 certificate for sustainability from GreenSign since 2021.
Nature and the environment are very important to us, especially after the experiences of the flood disaster in July 2021.
Therefore, we strive to save resources and preserve nature in its diversity.

For example, our rooms will not be automatically cleaned during longer stays of more than 1 night.
With us, the guest decides if and when they wish for a room cleaning.
Wild bees and insects find a new home in our insect hotels.
In the restaurant, we use napkins that are 100% compostable. As far as possible, we avoid unnecessary packaging
and plastic waste.
