Rundwanderweg A2 "Auf Kirres"
We start at the "Monte Klamotte" hikers' car park. The hiking trail A2 is well signposted both clockwise and anticlockwise. This description is counter-clockwise. We walk back from the car park to Waldburgstrasse. Follow this road to the left. Along the horse paddocks and the agricultural areas we walk on asphalted road. From the Fronhof we have a magnificent view northwards over the Rhine valley to the Rolandsbogen, the Drachenburg, the castle ruins on the Drachenfels and the Siebengebirge. Continue westwards over the heights of "Auf Kirres" until the signs lead you downhill to the left. At the 2nd bend to the right, we leave the asphalt path to the left. Walk uphill through mixed coniferous and deciduous forest until you reach a crossroads. There the signs lead us to the left up a short ascent. On the height of the "Reisberg", we then pass a Jewish cemetery and return to the starting point.
