The guest card for the Ahr Valley

 

The Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler guest card becomes the AhrtalCard.

The AhrtalCard is your ticket to numerous discounts and many shopping benefits in the Ahr Valley and the surrounding area. The AhrtalCard also gives you a public transport ticket for the entire region.

You can obtain the AhrtalCard from all hosts in the Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler town area from one overnight stay. The guest contribution is charged by the host and is not usually included in the price of the overnight stay. Adults currently pay 2.50 euros per person per night. Children up to and including the age of 5 are exempt from paying the fee. From the age of 6 up to and including the age of 17, the fee is 1 euro per child per night. Clinic guests at the rehabilitation clinics in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler receive the AhrtalCard free of charge on arrival.

When is the AhrtalCard valid?
The AhrtalCard is valid for the duration of your stay - including on the day of arrival and departure. Only the dates entered by your host are valid.

Is the AhrtalCard transferable?
Your personalised AhrtalCard is not transferable. Only you personally may use the benefits of the card during your stay.

Can the AhrtalCard also be purchased?
No, the AhrtalCard is currently not available to buy. It is a heartfelt invitation to experience the diversity of the Ahr Valley.

Is there anything else to consider?
Please always carry the AhrtalCard with you during your stay - as well as a valid photo ID.
Please note that the AhrtalCard can only be used once during your stay with individual partners.

What terms of use apply to VRM bus & train services?
The VRM guest ticket is only valid on public transport operated by the Rhine-Moselle Transport Association (VRM) in 2nd class trains and not on IC or ICE trains.
The VRM guest ticket is only valid when fully completed. Bicycles can be carried free of charge from 9 a.m. on weekdays and all day on Sundays and public holidays.

Are certain groups exempt from paying the guest contribution?
§ Section 4 of the guest contribution statutes states that severely disabled persons with a degree of disability of 100 and persons accompanying severely disabled persons with a degree of disability of 100 are exempt from paying the contribution if the need to be accompanied is proven by an official medical certificate, severely disabled person's pass or pension certificate.

However, this also means that the benefits of the guest card are not granted to this person. If the person is interested in the AhrtalCard, they can of course pay the guest contribution voluntarily at the accommodation establishment and then receive the AhrtalCard including all services.
