Historic thermal bathhouse in Bad Neuenahr

The thermal bathhouse, built between 1898 and 1899, is the work of the renowned Cologne architectural firm Schreiterer & Below. A picturesque green area stretches out in front of the imposing building, which has been adorned with a fountain and the striking Beethoven flute clock since 1983. The history of the Neuenahr spa dates back to the first season in 1859 and until the turn of the century, it recorded a continuous increase in spa guests. This growth can be attributed to the publications of Neuenahr physicians, who praised the healing effects of the water.

In response to this growing popularity, the spa management decided to build a new thermal bathhouse to replace the previous buildings from 1858 and 1862. The architectural firm Schreiterer & Below from Cologne was inspired by ancient bathing culture in its design, giving the building a timeless elegance.
