Open Cellar Day & AhrWine Tasting

Visiting the wineries along the Ahr

A whole day dedicated to Ahr wine – how does that sound? Don’t just visit one winery – take a look inside the cellars of several winegrowers. Along the route, you can reach the participating wineries on foot, by the free shuttle bus or using the included VRM ticket. This also allows you to use all regular bus services and the Ahrtalbahn throughout the region on the day of the event – perfect for covering even longer distances quickly and comfortably.

Each winemaker will be serving tastings and offering exclusive insights into their cellar. All the winemakers will also be serving delicious little treats from their kitchens.

Participants must be aged 16 or over!

The next Wine Cellar Open Day will take place on 10 April 2027.

+++ Please note: The 2027 Wine Cellar Open Day is already completely sold out! +++

From 6 pm to 9 pm, make your way through the various winemakers’ stands to explore the world of wine, whilst enjoying a chat with the participating wineries.

After the tasting, from 9 pm to 10 pm, you’ll have the chance to buy another glass of wine at the wine bar and round off the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.

Wine Cellar Open Day

Saturday, 10 April 2027, 11 am to 6 pm

+++ Please note: The 2027 Wine Cellar Open Day is already completely sold out! +++

Who hasn’t wondered at some point what journey an excellent Ahr wine takes, from the grape harvest in the vineyard right through to the bottle? At the Open Cellar Day, you can take a look behind the scenes and experience first-hand how the fine wines of the Ahr Valley are made.

Both small private vineyards and large winegrowers’ cooperatives open their doors, offering fascinating insights into their work, their philosophy and the production of their wines. Numerous Ahr winegrowers will be on hand to share interesting facts about their estates and demonstrate just how much craftsmanship, passion and experience goes into every single wine.

To ensure that the enjoyment isn’t neglected, the tasting pass handed out on the day entitles you to a tasting of three wines (0.05 l per sample) at every participating winery.

Transport during the event

On Saturday, shuttle buses will be available near the respective wineries to take you between them – transport is included in the ticket price and the stops will be clearly marked. The shuttle bus timetables will be published in good time.

In addition, you can also use your ticket to travel on public transport within the Rhine-Moselle Transport Association (VRM) to reach the event venues. This gives you even more options for getting to your next destination comfortably and flexibly.

Please note:
Dogs are not permitted on the buses or in the wine cellars.

Wineries

The participating wineries will be announced here before the end of the year.

Our winemakers put their heart and soul into ensuring that you have everything you need on the day of the event – including, of course, culinary delights. Each winery therefore offers a suitable selection of food. We therefore ask that you refrain from bringing and consuming your own food at the venues.
