Zwiebelmarkt
Since the Middle Ages, a particle of the Holy Cross has been displayed for veneration in the parish on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. The pilgrims were followed by the market traders - this is how the traditional Breisig "Zwibbelsmaat" came into being.
This year, around 150 traders line the streets of the town centre with their stalls alongside the Rhine promenade and the paths in the Kurpark. Here you can find everything from sharpening stones for knives, woollen socks to broomsticks and onion sacks - everything that people need but rarely find in normal shops. In addition, a varied supporting programme including live music and walking acts invites you to linger in the spring town on the Rhine.
