Over 200 market traders, a wide variety of food stalls and a children’s flea market – fun for the whole family! Under the motto ‘Op dem Maat jidd et (fas) alles’ (You can find (almost) everything at the market),
almost 200 street traders are expected in Remagen every year
for the traditional St James’s Market. They ensure that, on the last two
Sundays in July, from 11.00 to 18.00, you’ll find everything that makes a good
flea market: from vegetable slicers to knives, scissors and household goods,
everything to do with ironing, cleaning and baking, textiles for young and old, flowers,
leather goods, accessories and even fly screens.
The diverse range of food and drink on offer is also impressive. Roasted
almonds, candyfloss and sweets, tarte flambée, Baumstriezel or simply
‘just’ a bratwurst with chips, an ice cream, a cup of coffee or a
slice of cake are just some of the many treats you can find at the market
.
Funfair
The ‘funfair’ is also open between the first and second
Sundays of the Jakobsmarkt
On Caracciola Square by the Rhine promenade, there is a small
‘funfair’ with a children’s carousel, games and sweets,
a shooting gallery, a ball-throwing game and a duck-fishing game. The fairground operators also
open their stalls daily between the first and second
Sundays of the Jakobsmarkt. There, children of all ages can enjoy
the children’s carousel, go duck fishing, test their aim at the
shooting gallery or simply buy a sweet treat or something to play with
well into the evening.
The ‘Remagen mag ich’ promotional association invites you to a Sunday shopping event
and has a few bargains in store for you
in the shops in the town centre. Of course, the many galleries in the Historic Triangle
are also open and are showcasing their current exhibitions.
Public auction of lost property
As part of the Jakobsmarkt, lost property will be publicly auctioned on one of the two market Sundays in front of
Remagen Town Hall. A wide variety
of children’s, ladies’ and men’s bicycles, as well as many other attractive
items of lost property, will go ‘under the hammer’.
Children’s flea market
During the Jakobsmarkt, there is a children’s flea market on both market days in
Bachstraße. Children up to the age of 14 can sell toys and other items between 11.00 am and 6.00
sell toys and other items.
Participation in the flea market is free of charge and requires no prior registration
. However, the sale of new goods is not permitted.
