Art4Sax - Virtuose Leidenschaft am Saxophon

Under the theme ‘Time Travel’, the Art4SAX saxophone quartet takes its audience on a musical journey through the ages. Starting with the Renaissance and works by Giovanni Gabrieli, the programme moves through the Baroque era with compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach to contemporary works by Jérôme Naulais. The programme features both transcriptions and original compositions, which impressively showcase the saxophone quartet’s versatility.

Art4SAX combines many years of stage experience with a great love of performing and a multifaceted ensemble sound. Different musical paths, but a shared artistic vision, led the four musicians – via studies in Europe and the USA, as well as numerous ensemble and orchestral engagements – to form their quartet. Since its formation in 2010, precision, expressiveness and harmonious ensemble playing have been at the heart of their artistic work. The members of Art4SAX are Catrin Fellerich (soprano saxophone), Jörg Benzmüller (alto saxophone), Heike Schuh (tenor saxophone) and Stefan Barth (baritone saxophone).

Thanks to its unusual line-up and a programme covering a wide range of styles, the quartet promises a concert evening full of surprising timbres and musical discoveries.
