St. Petrus and St. Marzellinus Chapel

The chapel of St Peter and St Marcellinus in Lohrsdorf lies at the foot of the basalt cone of the Landskrone. Its origins date back to the end of the 13th century.
The nave of the Catholic chapel, which dates back to the 17th century and faces east-west, has undergone several remodelling projects over the years. The altar inside the small church was built from a wooden architectural structure that dates back to the mid-17th century and was consecrated in 1650. The 19 simple wooden benches in the chapel also date back to this time.

The renovation of the chapel began in the late 1960s and was successfully completed in 2004. The renovation helped to preserve the historical substance of the chapel while emphasising its cultural significance as a religious monument.

The altarpiece was painted by the Heppingen artist Willi Söller after the Second World War.
