14. Ahrathon - Der Erlebnismarathon im Ahrtal

A cheerful and colourful cross-country run through the vineyards around Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler

Run. Enjoy. Celebrate. - On 12 June 2027, the Ahr Valley will once again be transformed into what is probably Germany’s most beautiful running route: the 14th Ahrathon promises thrilling routes through vineyards, woods and wine estates – including wine tastings at the refreshment stations!

As the largest fun run in the district of Ahrweiler, the Ahrathon offers routes to suit every fitness level: marathon (42.195 km), half-marathon, fancy-dress half-marathon, Nordic Walking (10 & 21 km), 10 km, 5 km and the 500 m Bambini Run. The start and attractive routes follow the River Ahr, combining a sporting challenge with an experience of nature. The family programme, the refreshment stations and the activities for visitors create a great atmosphere. The run stands for community spirit and charity — every step counts. 

Many participants set off in fancy dress, cheered on by thousands of spectators along the route. The start and finish are in the heart of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, accompanied by a colourful programme of events, regional cuisine and live music. As the grand finale, the ‘Rock & Wein’ open-air party in the evening invites everyone to celebrate.

The Ahrathon is a wonderful scenic run over the red wine hiking trail with an adventurous character and quite sporty incentives.
