Jörg Runge

26.02.2027

20:00 h

Jörg Runge – the man whom many have known for years as the popular cult figure “Dä Tuppes vum Land” from the Rhineland carnival – presents another facet of his artistic work. With humour, wit and plenty of self-deprecating humour,
Jörg Runge takes his audience on a journey through the big and small mistakes of modern life.

The central question of the evening is: How does one actually become as reliably unhappy as possible?

As a communication trainer, coach and expert in positive psychology, Jörg Runge has been exploring for many years the factors that can make people can make people more content, successful and happy. In his solo show, he playfully turns the perspective on its head and reveals the patterns of thought and behaviour through which we often stand in the way of our own happiness.

With subtle humour and a keen eye for social trends, Runge holds up a mirror to his audience. He challenges the widespread assumption that more money automatically makes us happier, that the perfect partner solves all our problems, or that success inevitably leads to contentment. Amidst hearty laughter, surprising insights and thought-provoking moments, one thing becomes clear: many people often work with astonishing consistency towards their own unhappiness.

The programme begins in carnival style and ends in carnival style. In between, Runge combines cabaret, comedy, personal stories and scientifically grounded insights from positive psychology to create an evening full of humour, humanity and joie de vivre.

The message: happiness is no accident. It often arises precisely when we stop chasing false promises and start looking at life more consciously.

Jörg Runge connects with his audience in different ways: as “Dä Tuppes vum Land” with Rhineland humour and a passion for carnival, and as a solo artist who explores life’s questions with wit, depth and humanity. Two facets, one artist – and a great deal of joy on stage.

‘Misfortune is hard work too’ is an invitation to laugh together, to reflect and perhaps to view life from a slightly different perspective.

An evening of laughter. An evening of reflection. An evening that shows: even happiness can be viewed with humour.

20 years on stage. Two facets, one artist. And still plenty of stories that are waiting to be told.
